You never knew what will happen at a reception, so my motto is to be ready. One of my favorite things to do once the party is rolling, is to step get back with a long lens and just watch. This was a wedding in at the Spokane Club. I was standing on a chair on the sidelines looking for moments and the groomsman decided to just use the pitcher. The bridesmaid looks totally disgusted, but as I recall she dared him to do it and well, you know the things woman can drive us to do.
This was not really a wild wedding, but people had fun. It had been a long day and it felt good just relax, observe and catch some moments… Gav

I like to start a new year of photos by looking back at the previous and showing off some favorites. This year I decided to start myself a new trend and do it with one of videos that are becoming so popular with my clients. You had some awesome weddings in 2009 and it was a pleasure being a part of your days. Here’s to super cool weddings in 2010. Enjoy and see you there… Gav
I recently had a bridal fashion session for Chris, a custom bridal seamstress. She had a beautiful silk gown she wanted to feature, along with a coordinating birdcage veil (birdcage veils are really hot. I predict they’ll be a trend in the next few years). Anyways we wanted venue that would allow us to be bold while getting a bit of vintage style. We decided on the Ivy Wild Inn, a historic mansion in Wenatchee WA.
Our model was a beautiful young woman named Leslie and she did great, even trooping against the cold weather with no problem. We had the mansion to ourselves for a few hours and the results were perfect. Classic window lighting, colorful roof tiles nearly everything else we needed. There’s already two forty inch canvas pieces at my lab that Chris will use to show her clients the potential of a great gown.
The top is my favorite. Leslie standing out on the balcony, a Speedlight coming from behind and the lines and angles of the Inn make this image nearly perfect. The whole set met all my hopes however so without further adieu here’s some more favorites including lots of B&W. Enjoy… Gav
Thad & Misty… The Album.
Here’s a great wedding I photographed for Misty & Thad. They had their big day at this neat old estate on Lake Chelan. We even went out on the lake in the evening for some of those hot romance images. This was a little crazy, because I was driving the boat too! They were kissing while I was shooting and steering. Misty and Thad were great though and I think you’ll agree the results are too.
They’ll be getting an album and a beautiful canvas wall portrait for their home. Here’s a couple favorites. You can view the album slideshow below for the whole story. Enjoy… Gav

Stacia & Clayton… The Album.
Stacia is actually my cousin and it was an honor photographing her and Claton’s. It happened at my Aunt Sheryl’s house in Kent WA and the turned out beautifully. They even had this amazing tent that covered nearly the entire yard. Not a cheap vinyl tent, but the real deal, like something from a movie that you could use for an oasis in the dessert.
Towards evening I took Stacia & Clayton up to Druids Glen for some great sunset images with an amazing view of Mount Rainier. The results were beautiful and they’ll be getting a thirty inch canvas of that first image. Here’s some of my favorites, as well as a slideshow of their storybook album… Enjoy… Gav
