Ashlee & Chris | Engagement Portraits Photography in Wenatchee wedding photography

What a fun evening. I’ll be photographing Ashlee and Chris’s wedding in May next year. Recently we met down in Wenatchee for a causal engagement session. We roamed around the downtown area and into the Riverfront park for one cool scene after another. Ashlee and Chris were great and the result of our little walk were some very natural portraits of a couple, simply being in Love.

A little story of me messing up though. I’m not great with names, but I know that’s not an acceptable excuse, so I’ve been forcing myself to improve. Well not today. We had been working for about twenty minutes, when I realized I had been calling Ashlee, Jessica. Oh ya, not even close. Jessica was a bride I had met with earlier that day. Newbee careless mistake. Ashlee took it well though and since then I’ve used her real name. She will defiantly be known as Ashlee from now on.

Engagement sessions are something I include for no extra charge with my weddings. Their great way to get better acquainted with my couples, get some great photographs and get them relaxed in front of the lens. By the time the wedding rolls around, I want them to be able to ignore the fact that the camera is nearby and just enjoy their day. After the session my wife and I went out to a photographers meet up in Leavenworth, ending a great evening with good food and colleagues. Here’s some favorites from A&C’s collection. Your comments welcome… Gav

This was a neat wedding and I wanted to post it sooner. Kelly & Steele have been super busy however, so I held off so they could have some time to review. You may recall that I posted Kelly & Steel’s e-session a few months back (you can see it here). I was looking forward to the big day at Hidden Meadow. It’s this great venue outside of Moses Lake, but ironically this was my time there, so I was eager to take it on.

I was there early, even before the couple. That was OK because it gave me a chance to scope out the landscape. And what a beautiful landscape it was. It really is a hidden meadow. I’m driving down this gravel road in the Central WA desert thinking “this is a wedding venue”, when all the sudden there it was. Acres and acres or perfectly groomed oasis ready for a party.

The day went really well, as did the resulting photos. After the beautiful ceremony on the main lawn, we went right into a huge party with lots of good food and LOTS of dancing, including live music by Foolish Fortune. They did a really great job.

I love a real, non staged capture of the bouquet toss. Along with many other favorites, I think the Kelly’s bouquet (see below) is my all time favorite toss photo. It just really nailed the feeling. There’s so many I like though and it was hard to narrow them down for the album I designed for Kelly & Steele. You peek at their wedding album below, as well as a few other faves. Check out the links above for the complete collection as well as one of my new Fusion Slideshows of their day. Congratulations Kelly & Steele…. Gav

Last Saturday I was photographer at a really neat wedding over at Hidden Meadow, for Kelly & Steele (the couple I posted engagement photos of a few weeks back). Hidden meadow is simple but beautifully done. It’s like a giant garden oasis in the middle of the Moses Lake area dessert and made a stunning backdrop for Kelly & Steele to say their vows and enjoy family & friends.

Kelly and Steel are on their honeymoon now and when they get back we’ll wrap up their album and get a proof gallery of the whole photo collection. For now here’s a sneak peak with a few favorites of what’s to come. Enjoy the view… Gav

Sneak Peak – Wenatchee Wedding Photography for J&B

Sneak Peak Wenatchee Wedding Photography for J&B wedding photography

Last week I had the pleasure of photographing an awesome wedding for Jayme & Brandon. It was at the Highlander Golf Club in East Wenatchee and was a beautiful day. I work pretty often in the Wenatchee area and there’s always lots of potential. Wait till you see the views we had from the Highlander. Stunning. We even made it out on the Columbia River for some boating and Wakesurfing. I have some neat goodies in store for this wedding so stay tuned. Here’s just a couple teaser photo’s, but there’s lots more coming soon… Gav

You never knew what will happen at a reception, so my motto is to be ready. One of my favorite things to do once the party is rolling, is to step get back with a long lens and just watch. This was a wedding in at the Spokane Club. I was standing on a chair on the sidelines looking for moments and the groomsman decided to just use the pitcher. The bridesmaid looks totally disgusted, but as I recall she dared him to do it and well, you know the things woman can drive us to do.

This was not really a wild wedding, but people had fun. It had been a long day and it felt good just relax, observe and catch some moments… Gav
