Leavenworth wedding for Gordon & Shelley at Pine River Ranch:

Shelley & Gordon… The Album.

Hey everyone. Here’s my latest wedding. Gordon & Shelley had a beautiful afternoon ceremony at Pine River Ranch near Leavenworth WA. There was a beautiful mountain view from the ceremony area and for the reception, a great old barn that’s been restored with modern amenities.

Around the grounds there were plenty of great locations for portraits including paths meadows and just that great fresh air feeling. The meadows out towards the river had this amazing tall grass. It felt like we were in Sherwood forest.

Shelley & Gordon are getting back from their honeymoon in Kuaui any day, so I wrapped up the editing and designed their storybook album. Here’s the sideshow to bring it all together. Feel free to share your comments. Enjoy… Gav

Wedding In Spokane For Ashley & Robert

Robert & Ashley… The Album.

I photographed this fun wedding at the Spokane Club for Ashley and Robert two Saturdays ago. It’s down near Riverfront Park in Spokane WA. It was a long 15hr day, but everyone did great the urban location made for amazing photographs. Ashley an Bob (Robert) were really fun to work with and we had a great time, ending the night with some amazing sparkler images.

I’ve finished prep and album design finished ahead of schedule. There were so many beautiful images, that trying to keep the album to a reasonable size was a challenge. Here’s a slidshow of the story. The the pages you see here will be printed in one of our leather storybooks with the gorgeous 10×20 spreads. It’s going to be beautiful. Enjoy… Gav

I’m Featured In The Wedding Photography Secrets Book:

Today I received a copy if Rick Sammon’s new book, Digital Wedding Photography Secrets. I was honored to be invited by Rick to contribute a page of tips to this great book. Here’s a picture of my page which features my well known Look To The Wind bridal portrait taken on the Washington coast. My article deals with using HDR to make amazing wedding portraits. Jana & Darren’s Wedding At Cave B

Saturday I had great wedding for Darren & Jana at the Cave B winery. Darren and Jana are from CA and came here for their day so they could be near family. DJ is an engineer and Jana is a hairstylist, which was fun because she kept was helping with others hair while getting herself ready.

I’ve worked at Cave B before and while the lighting can be challenging, the results can be amazing. The happy couple should be on their honeymoon as I speak. I managed to get the editing done early. DJ & Jana did a great job. My favorite shots are when we snuck off at sunset and went out to the bluff. What a beautiful view of the Columbia river. Then back to the reception where the Disk Jockey spun up some “real vinyl” and kept a great party rolling.

On a sad note, my brand new lens fell off the camera and took some damage towards the end of the night. It’s OK though because it’s to to the repair shop and the pictures turned out awesome, so I’m happy. Enjoy… Gav Continue reading ‘Jana & Darren’s Wedding At Cave B’

Weddings 2009 | Wentachee, Spokane & More

I’m very excited about my 2009 weddings. My summer calender is filling up I’m shooting some really great weddings and locations all over Washington. Stay tune to the blog because I post images from every wedding.

I’ll be hitting some cool locations, like Woodland Park Zoo, Leavenworth, Cave B Inn, Spokane, Port Orchard and more, for what’s shaping up to be some really Amazing weddings.

I’ll also be using the new 5D MK II which is an incredible camera. I try not to put too much stock in what I shoot with, because in the end it’s not the gear but the experience behind it. Still it’s hard not be be excited. The images this camera makes are AMAZING!

I do still have some summer dates available. I’m also taking bookings for winter 09, and 2010. If your interested in booking wedding just get in touch.
