A few weeks ago I had a great wedding for Mike and Jessica at Cave B Estate (near Ellensburg WA). I was joined by my buddy Matt, from Shumate Photography who helped out as my second shooter. Jess and Mike just couldn’t seem keep their hands off each other ;) so we kept on the go with lots of great moments.
Creation is awesome. The day started with some stunning distant clouds. About the time everyone was prepped it had started pouring down rain. While rain on a wedding day is not ideal, I was determined to make good use of it. Jessica needed to get to the main lobby to see Mike for the first look. I found her an umbrella and she and Gina ran from the getting ready room down to the main lobby. I ended up lying on the ground in the rain shooting like crazy and having a blast. My white slacks got wet and dirty and my camera got soaked (it’s still working) but the results made a great addition to their collection.
The rest of the day was no less successful. The rain stopped just before the ceremony started. Rain in this area is often quick and this was just perfect. It was cool but not cold and the clouds, now moving away made a breathtaking backdrop for their outdoor ceremony. We even snuck off for some evening shots of the Cave B bluffs around sunset. More of those in the album.
All in all the day was a huge success. Jess and Mike have returned from a great honeymoon in Costa Rica and were just in for their proofing. I’m stoked about their images and they loved them too. So much so that they had a hard time making the final decisions. The album slideshow above tells the whole story and below you’ll find a link to the proof gallery for those of you that want to see the nearly 400 images and/or order prints. Enjoy… Gav
I recently had a bridal fashion session for Chris, a custom bridal seamstress. She had a beautiful silk gown she wanted to feature, along with a coordinating birdcage veil (birdcage veils are really hot. I predict they’ll be a trend in the next few years). Anyways we wanted venue that would allow us to be bold while getting a bit of vintage style. We decided on the Ivy Wild Inn, a historic mansion in Wenatchee WA.
Our model was a beautiful young woman named Leslie and she did great, even trooping against the cold weather with no problem. We had the mansion to ourselves for a few hours and the results were perfect. Classic window lighting, colorful roof tiles nearly everything else we needed. There’s already two forty inch canvas pieces at my lab that Chris will use to show her clients the potential of a great gown.
The top is my favorite. Leslie standing out on the balcony, a Speedlight coming from behind and the lines and angles of the Inn make this image nearly perfect. The whole set met all my hopes however so without further adieu here’s some more favorites including lots of B&W. Enjoy… Gav
Their finally here. Usually proofs get out much quicker, but Chaz & Jeanette have a busy schedule and it took some planning to coordinate. I managed to get them in for proofs Sunday and everything came out great.
The trees were green and the river was just a few steps away. Chaz & Jeanette had a great afternoon wedding at their parents new country home near Leavenworth WA. They did great and we got great results that are going to look great as large prints on the wall.
Here’s a few favorites. Poke around and take a minute to play the slideshow of their amazing album. Enjoy… Gavin
Kristin & Neil really neat wedding at Warm Springs Inn a few weeks back. It’s been a little longer in positing because they had a nice long honeymoon in Jamaica and I was waiting for them to get home. Warm Springs is a great venue and the food is always delicious which makes it even better. Neil and Kristin had a very hot, but fun day that ended with a stunning Wenatchee Washington sunset.
One the the favorite moments from the day is Stephanie, the bridesmaid searching for the ring which she has hid down her dress. I try to be in the right place at the right time and this worked out perfect. There were also some stunning evening images. Kristin and Neil will are getting a beautiful thirty in canvas (the bottom image) along the their album.
It was fun being a part of the day with you all. Congratulations again to Kristin & Neil. Enjoy the a slideshow of the album story … Gav
My latest wedding was in Wenatchee for Breienne and Brandon. It was a long day, but a fun time with plenty of amazing photos. The wedding was at Brie’s parents house which was a beautiful home near the river with a great yard for a wedding.
Late in the evening the Brie and Brandon and their entire bridal party jumped into the swimming pool, followed by just about everyone else. The dress got wet, but it will dry and the resulting images will be bring fun memories long after the dress is stored away. A few times I was actually in the pool almost to my neck with my camera inches above the water. Thankfully I didn’t slip and the results were well worth the extra effort.
Here’s a few favorites as well as a slideshow of their wedding album story. It came out beautifully and will look amazing when printed as a double spread pages in their book… Enjoy… Gav.
